Layered Magic Jello

Layered Magic Jello

Jello is a yummy, easy and fun snack for all occasions. We love making layered jellos as well as the magiv cool whip jello. For Christmas I decided to go with a festive red and green layered magic jello. Some might ask…what do I mean by magic jello. Well, if you mix in cool whip instead of some of the hot water then when the jello sets it has a frothy layer to it. Super yum!

For the ingredients you simply need your two different jello colors/flavors. You could even do more than two but for festive colors I chose red and green this year. You will also need coop whip, some tiny dessert dishes and a cupcake pan.

Prepare your first/bottom later per the instructions on the jello box. Usually hot boiling water first then cold water. Mix well until all the little particles have disolved…don’t want chunks or pieces in your jello.

Pour your first layer of jello in your dessert dishes and place in the fridge for 4 hours or so to solidify. If you want the jello to have a slant to it, place your dishes sideways in a cupcake tray.

When the first layer is about done, begin preparing your next layer of jello color/flavor. This time, do the hot boiling water as it says and then once ready for the cold water, add half that amount of cool whip and half of the cold water. For instance, I did the large box of jello which calls for 2 cups boiling water and then instead of the 2 cups of cold water I added one cup of cool whip and mixed until mostly disolved and then one cup of cold water.

Carefully pour your second layer on top of the solidified first layer and place back in the fridge for another 4 hours or so. One tip is to use a spoon to pour the new layer onto before it hits the first later to keep it from slamming into it and causing mush.

One your jello is solid and ready to be eaten, add some fresh cool whip and some festive sprinkles and enjoy.

Happy magic jello making…
